Glimpse at life in the Gilded Age as Laura Overbey leads us through the exhibition currently at Biltmore Dressing Downton, featuring clothing from the popular PBS Masterpiece series, Downton Abby.  Costumes range from the decorative lace, beading, and fine tailored fabrics of the upper class to the more durable cotton and wool of servants and workers.  Now Collections Manager at Biltmore, Laura Cope Overbey is a Knoxville native, a University of Tennessee graduate, and a former staff member of the East Tennessee Historical Society.

The program is sponsored by the Harriet Z. Albers Memorial Fund and is free and open to the public.  Guests are invited to bring a “Brown Bag” lunch and enjoy the lecture.  Soft drinks will be available for purchase.  For more information on the lecture, exhibitions, or museum hours, call 865-215-8824.
