“Experience Tennessee” bus trip to Murfreesboro

Tennessee State Museum
When:
Saturday, April 7, 2018 - 3:00am to 1:00pm

Join us Saturday, April 7, as our “Experience Tennessee” bus takes a trip to the historical areas of Murfreesboro. We’ll also travel to other historic areas of Rutherford County, and learn why one of the most significant, yet less known, Civil War battles took place there. You will receive a reduced early bird rate if you reserve your seat by March 7. After that, the rate will increase.

The single day trip will depart from downtown Nashville. Participants will learn about the dramatic Battle of Stones River, visit the historic downtown square and courthouse, and much more. The Murfreesboro Courthouse is one of the oldest county seats in Tennessee, and the revived downtown offers many shops and restaurants today. The National Battlefield at Stones River includes a National Cemetery and beautiful scenery. The “Experience Tennessee” bus trips are some of the most anticipated and exciting adult and family programs we offer. If you have never joined us, these trips are exactly what they are named; a way to truly experience Tennessee and all the rich history and culture our state has to offer. Participants are given behind-the-scenes tours and specialized presentations by experts as well as local historians. And of course, no Tennessee experience would be complete without good food. Each trip includes a stop for some local cuisine or just good ole home cooking.
