Medal of Honor Quilt Project - Brown Bag Lunch

@ The East Tennessee History Center
Where:
The East Tennessee History Center
When:
Wednesday, March 25, 2015 - 8:00am to Thursday, March 26, 2015 - 8:45am

When local quilters learned that the 2014 Medal of Honor Convention would meet in Knoxville, their first thought was, “wouldn’t it be great to meet these guys---and give them a quilt!”  Over the 20 months leading up to the convention, quilters across East Tennessee created individual quilts for each living recipient and several Gold Star families, for a total of 115 quilts.  Join project coordinator Kit Brown and the team of quilters as they share their stories and memories from the quilting and the conference.

The program is sponsored by the Harriet Z. Albers Memorial Fund and is free and open to the public.  Guests are invited to bring a “Brown Bag” lunch and enjoy the lecture.  Soft drinks will be available for purchase.  For more information on the lecture, exhibitions, or museum hours, call 865-215-8824.
