“A GENEALOGY, DNA & HISTORY DAY’ – OLD BLUE SPRINGS DAY – will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at West Greene High School, 275 West Greene Dr., Mosheim, TN 37818 to begin at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. The event is to present information about history opportunities in East Tennessee and to allow people – young and old – to participate in an educational program on history & genealogy by experts.
18 organizations in the area have been invited to set up tables complete with a resource person from their organization along with materials to discuss their organization & projects. These exhibits will be open all during the day with scheduled speakers providing information on First Families of TN, DNA, Researching Without Resources & Preserving Family Cemeteries.
Computer personnel will conduct genealogy research for people to research their ancestors. You must have your parents’ & grandparents’ names & dates of birth to do this research.
Antique & hand-made craft vendors are invited to call Lynn Hartman 423-470-1323 to reserve space to display & sell their wares.
A special place will be provided for Show & Tell where attendees are encouraged to bring their special antiques & local history items to share with others.
Food can be purchased catered by Abigail’s BBQ & Creamy Cup with doughnuts & desserts from Peggy Ann Bakery. There will be a musical program at 12:30.
The public, including school children, is invited to this FREE event sponsored by Blue Springs Historical Association to benefit the historic Blue Springs church & cemetery in Mosheim, both of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.
