First Friday Preview Screening of "The Vietnam War: East Tennessee"

The Vietnam War: East Tennessee

This special event will include two screenings of "A Sense of Revolution," which discusses the local/national anti-war movement, and the impact it had on soldiers and society. Other overlapping issues from this time period are also discussed. The film includes scholarly commentary from Dr. Jon Shefner, Dr. Cynthia Griggs Fleming, and Dr. Thomas Schwartz. This film was partially funded by a Humanities Tennessee grant. A panel discussion with Q&A will occur after the first screening.

5:00 pm: Event opens at East TN History Center
5:30 pm: First Screening
6:00 pm: Panel Discussion
6:30 pm: Second Screening
7:00 pm: Q & A with filmmakers from Nolpix Media.

We are also inviting residents to participate in a call for materials associated with the Vietnam War. Did you or a relative serve in Vietnam? Do you have documents, photographs or artifacts from this conflict? Bring them! Participating historians will be on hand to digitize your items for inclusion in the history of East Tennessee. Your materials will be returned back to you the same day.
