Join the Knox County Public Library’s Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound as we present a look back at a year’s worth of archiving, with a screening of recent film acquisitions, collaborations, restorations and more!

Our year in review will feature clips from:
• Historic home movies of state judge William Wayne Oliver from
the 1930s, including footage of the Oliver family cabin in
Cades Cove
• Downtown Santa Claus Parades in the 1940s
• A 1945 live action Snow White film made in Knoxville
• Opening of the Oak Ridge Gates in 1949
• Bob Hope’s 1953 visit to Knoxville
• Apollo 7 splashdown and recovery
• Home movies shot by a G.I. in France and Germany in the days
following World War II
• Other films from near and far with East Tennessee connections

You’ll also see TAMIS footage that was included in nationally broadcast television shows:
• Ken Burns’ Country Music series
• ESPN’s history of SEC football
• PBS’ documentary on the Hatfield and McCoy feud
